LET’S GO FAT BIKING!
Thanks to a grant from Be Good Foundation, we are offering FREE Fat Bike Rentals for new and diverse trail users.
Our goal is to promote access to and stewardship of trails for fat biking in Blaine County, Idaho and surrounding areas. We seek to expand winter trail use opportunities, educate the public about responsible trail use, and support programs and events that foster outdoor recreation and healthy lifestyles.
We are proud recipients of a Be Good Foundation Grant that is making it possible for us to offer FREE Fat Bike rentals and trail passes for new and diverse users!
Ride With Our Group
Sign-up for a pre-schedule group day, where we transport the fat bike to and from the trailhead. You simply meet us at the Durance Trail, and we’ll take care of the rest. The Durance Groomed Trail is part of the BCRD trail system and located at the SNRA parking lot. We will cover your day-use pass for BCRD! Once you’re out on the groomed trail, you can ride at your own pace.
Dates & Times Offered
February 21, 10am – 2pm
February 26, 4pm – 6:30pm
March 8, 2pm – 4:30pm
Or – Go On Your Own!
When you register, you can request a date and time that fits your schedule. You’ll pick up and return your fat bike directly at Trailhead Bicycles.
Please plan to bring a vehicle that can safely transport the bike — such as a truck bed or a bike rack that accommodates oversized tires.
New to fat biking? We’ve got you covered!
Fat biking is a great way to enjoy winter trails, and you don’t need fancy gear — just dress like you would for other winter outdoor activities. Wear warm layers you can adjust as you heat up: a moisture-wicking base layer, an insulating mid-layer, and a windproof outer layer. Insulated gloves, warm socks, and a helmet are strongly recommended. Avoid bulky snow pants if possible — you’ll be pedaling and will warm up quickly!
Bring water (insulated bottles work best in cold weather), sunglasses or clear glasses for wind and snow, and a small backpack if you want to shed layers. Winter boots with a grippy sole work well for flat pedals.
Most importantly: expect to laugh, take breaks, and have fun. Fat biking is about adventure, not speed.
